AMERICA AT WAR WITH TERRORISTS

Marine Corps League Detachment 955 joins the battle

Commandant Kalinick sends letter to our President:

The President                                                                    September 17,2001
The White House
Washington, DC 20500

Dear Mr. President:

The Cape and Islands Detachment 955, Marine Corps League, wishes to express its full support for any actions you need to take to apprehend the perpetrators, prevent further attacks, and to retaliate against the terrorist attack on the United States of America.

Our members include current Marine reservists and veterans of every war since (and including) World War I . We have several living members who fought on Iwo Jima and elsewhere in the Pacific. Others served in Korea, Viet Nam and Desert Storm. Even those of us who served in peace time know the meaning of service and sacrifice. It is time to put service and sacrifice for our nation ahead of other lesser concerns until the terrorist threat is ended.

We know that Marines called to active duty will serve with honor. Those of us too old to serve will devote ourselves to this effort by other means. We wish you strength, wisdom and determination in the trials ahead. The Marines will support you in every way possible.

                                        Semper Fidelis,

                                        Andrew Kalinick
